COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Laundry is something everyone on the planet needs to do, yet it hasn’t evolved for nearly a century.

6.6 billion people live without modern access, forcing them to either do laundry by hand or share a few machines with hundreds of other people. Not to mention that doing laundry today is incredibly annoying, time consuming, and detrimental to the planet.

We are Paradigm Evergreen, the company evolving how humanity does laundry by reinventing traditional machines and breaking down the high barriers that alienate billions from home laundry access.

We are achieving that through our inaugural product, Eeva, which is the first to enable universal access, so anyone in the world with just a standard electrical outlet can now have a fully autonomous washer/dryer at home, regardless of space or infrastructure. Leveraging our innovative technology, we are also able to achieve ~60% reduction in water and energy consumption, having a gigantic impact on climate change.

We have already sold more than $1m in revenue and recently raised millions in seed funding to take this innovative product from early stage development, to worldwide impact.

We are a small and growing team with big ambitions, based in Battersea, London. We are looking for a dynamic/resourceful crew member to join us on this mission to reinvent laundry and help build this impact company from the ground up.

JOB OVERVIEW

With advanced prototypes now well underway we are in a critical stage to refine and finalise the electronics design of our flagship product, Eeva. We require ownership of not only the swift and solid execution of our PCBA layouts, but also the firmware and interaction design. We want our solutions to be smart, robust and cost effective with a clear vision of efficient manufacturing. Our product is an electromechanical system, using motors, valves, heaters, fans, a variety of sensors and Wifi communication.

We are looking for a Head of Electronics to own electronics design, team building/development, and manufacturing. We are collaborative all working 5 days in-office, so the role would be dynamic and we expect you to be flexible and play a meaningful role in multiple aspects of our system.

The ideal candidate can handle both hardware and software development. There are only a small number of PCBs, so soon the focus will shift much more towards developing and refining system operation and user experience via firmware updates.

Due to the stage of development, some efforts should be taken to prioritise flexibility and easily updated solutions to test out ideas that the rest of the team may have. Clear code and comments are desirable, and a care for legacy and due dilligence is appreciated.

What we would love you to have;

  • An EE background, with 12+ years of experience
  • Experience working in consultancy, SMEs or a startup environment, capable of navigating quick timescales and moving targets
  • Experience with capacitive displays
  • Experience developing and taking things through to production
  • Experience with Altium, KiCAD, VS Code, or Github software
  • Experience of C/C++, FreeRTOS, ESP-IDF, LVGL or I2C Communication
  • A self-starter mindset, to understand priorities and figure the rest out along the way
  • A sense of confidence in an EE lab, familiar with essential tools and equipment to modify and troubleshoot

What would be even better;

  • Experience with either laundry, air, heat or water based consumer products (coffee, vacuum, hairdryer, fans etc)

Here’s what you’ll get in return

  • Top of the market salary (£85-100k (dependant on experience))
  • Company equity options
  • Relocation support (we want the best talent)
  • An unsurpassed learning curve for your career
  • The opportunity to work with a group of experienced, talented, passionate people who are changing the world
